Terms of Service

EntropiaOrme is free, open-source software distributed under the MIT License (see LICENSE in the source repository). It is a local desktop application that helps users track and analyse their own activity in Entropia Universe. The app is developed and maintained by Mikel Williams-Lekuona on a non-commercial, hobbyist basis.

The app is independent and unofficial. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by MindArk PE AB or any operator of Entropia Universe.

EntropiaOrme reads game state from Entropia Universe through means including OCR of on-screen content, parsing of locally written game log files, and monitoring of input events while you have the app's listening features enabled. Whether any such activity is permitted by the End User Licence Agreement, terms of service, or other rules of Entropia Universe and its operator (collectively, the "Game Terms") is solely a matter between you and the game operator.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the app complies with the Game Terms. The developer makes no representation that any feature of the app is permitted under the Game Terms, and accepts no responsibility for any consequences (including but not limited to account warnings, suspensions, terminations, asset loss, or other game-side action) arising from your use of the app.

If you are unsure whether a feature is acceptable under the Game Terms, do not use that feature.

"Entropia Universe" and related names, logos, and assets are trademarks or registered trademarks of MindArk PE AB. References to those marks within the app, its documentation, or its source code are descriptive only and do not imply any affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship.

The app's source code is licensed to you under the MIT License. The MIT License governs your rights to copy, modify, and redistribute the source code. These Terms govern your relationship with the developer as an end user running the app, and apply in addition to the MIT License where you act in that capacity.

You agree not to:

use the app in any way that would breach the Game Terms or any applicable law;

represent the app, or any derivative of it, as being officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the operator of Entropia Universe;

use the app to harass, harm, or interfere with other players or the operation of Entropia Universe.

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be error-free, that its analytical output will be accurate or complete, or that it will operate without interruption.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, in-game assets, accounts, goodwill, or any other intangible loss, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The app is provided free of charge; the developer's aggregate liability to you under these Terms shall in any event not exceed zero pounds (GBP 0.00).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

The app is designed to handle data locally. See the Privacy Policy for details on what the app processes, where it stores it, and what it does not transmit.

The developer may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an increment to the version above and a corresponding update to the in-app acceptance flow, which will prompt you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the app. Continued use of the app after acceptance constitutes agreement to the updated Terms.

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim, save that nothing in this section shall prevent the developer from bringing proceedings in any other jurisdiction in order to protect the developer's rights.
